CTP collects Rs 20m in fines

RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) has collected approximately over Rs 20 million in traffic violation fines.

According to details, some 59,219 vehicles and motorcycles were issued tickets, which gathered an accumulated fine of Rs 24 million 18 thousand and 50 in the form of fines and impounded the some 338 vehicles and 938 motorcycles in various police stations of district Rawalpindi due to violation of traffic rules and non-completion of documents.

The traffic police have issued some 1,482 tickets to vehicles using tinted glasses. The traffic police have also issued tickets to some 6,116 commuters riding the bike without helmet, 2,549 bikes without registration book, 7,691 without number plates and 8,678 vehicles and bikes of un-authorise number plates, some 1,824 on wrong parking, about 655 bikes and vehicles on careless and wrong driving.

Similarly, some 1,324 public service vehicles on violation of route permit, under age drivers 1,173, on using cellular phones during driving 1,405 vehicles, driving vehicle or bike without license 3,695, for creating hurdles in traffic 1,040, on violation of traffic signals 2,123, on violation of lane line and zebra crossing 961, on using wrong direction or violating one way 1,727 vehicles and bikes were issued tickets.
